A baby born with four arms and four legs is being worshipped as Hindu god Ganesha.
A newborn having multiple limbs is nothing new in India, but this
child born in the Giridih district of Jharkhand on Saturday has
attracted extra attention due to his striking appearance.
He looks like two babies in one as a result of his underdeveloped co-joined twin still being attached to him.
Since the birth of the baby, who is still to be named, the otherwise
sleepy Dumri-Isri area has turned into a pilgrimage destination.
Kuntalesh Pandey travelled 115km from Hazaribagh to get a glimpse of the boy.
‘When a friend first sent me a picture I wrote it off as a
photoshopped but when he confirmed that it is real I came to see the
baby straight away,’ he said.
Nurse, Sarita Devi, added: ‘We are taking great care of the baby.’
The condition of mum, Ureda Khatun, is unknown.
