Pamela Anderson is channeling Janet Leigh's doomed "Psycho" ingénue in a new PETA ad.
The oft-naked bombshell doffed her clothes for the animal rights
organization again, this time to protest the amount of water used by
meat and dairy farmers.
The black and white ad has the buxom blond recreating the 1960 film's
famous shower scene, shrieking at an unseen attacker while clutching a
tiny towel.
The tagline for the ad, shot by famed photographer David LaChapelle,
says, "Making a splash for the environment doesn't just mean shorter
showers. Try vegan."
PETA is using the ad to target the ongoing drought in California.
Much of the state has been ravaged by the current dry spell, which has
prompted the state to crack down on water-wasters, impose restrictions
and pass appliance efficiency mandates.
Describing the strain big ag places on water resources, the 47-year-old
former Playboy bunny said, "Rivers are siphoned off, not just for the
animals but also for crops like alfalfa grown to feed animals on factory
farms."
"Producing one pound of beef uses as much water as about six months' worth of showers."
Anderson, a longtime vegan and honorary PETA director, has frequently bared it all for the animal rights group.
One 2010 ad, which showed the Baywatch beauty diagramed into body parts
such as "breast" and "rump," was banned in her native Canada after
officials deemed it sexist.
