FG, IOCs, Banks in Talks over $4bn Debt

Nigeria is in talks with oil majo rs and banks to raise capital for new drilling and to repay up to $4bn in debt that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has accumulated over years of mismanagement.

The Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, told Reuters that he wanted to increase crude oil output to 2.5 million barrels per day by the end of this year. Currently, the country pumps 2.3 million bpd.

Twitter Shares Drop on Slowing user Growth

Twitter shares  fell in after-hours trading as the company's quarterly results showed user growth faltering.

Twitter reported a net loss of $90m (£62m) for the last three months of 2015 versus a loss of $125m a year ago.
The social media site saw its user growth stall, with 320 million average monthly active users - the same number as the previous quarter.

Samsung Galaxy Announced fast Sales of new Android S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 unveiled

Samsung has announced two new large high-end Android handsets: the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5.

Both phones have 5.7in (14.5cm) screens and are going on sale earlier in the year than their previous generations.

The launches follow five successive falls in Samsung Electronics' quarterly profits.
Analysts say the popularity of mid-range phones from Chinese rivals, and Apple's shift to bigger iPhones, have dented demand for Samsung's devices.
However, the firm remains the world leader in terms of overall smartphone shipments.
The announcements were made at a press conference in New York.

Emerging Assets Weaken after Yuan Devaluation

Emerging market currencies tumbled on Tuesday in the wake of China's record 1.9 percent currency devaluation, which took offshore-traded yuan 2.5 percent lower and rekindled fears for growth in the world's No. 2 economy.
  China's central bank cut the yuan's daily fix, effectively devaluating it against the dollar after data released on the weekend showed an 8.3 percent slump in Chinese exports. Bigger moves down in the more freely traded offshore yuan pushed the spread between it and its onshore counterpart to its widest in more than 10 months.

Pamela Anderson is channeling Janet Leigh's doomed "Psycho" ingénue in a new PETA ad.
Actress Janet Leigh’s scream at an unseen attacker in the 1960 Hitchcock movie provided inspiration for Anderson. PETA’s new ad features a showering Pamela Anderson with a message about water wasted on factory farms in a nod to the movie “Psycho.”
The oft-naked bombshell doffed her clothes for the animal rights organization again, this time to protest the amount of water used by meat and dairy farmers.

Will Ethiopia's teff be the next 'super grain'?

This is a harvest scene in rural Ethiopia, which at this time of the year is replicated across the length and breadth of the country.

Ethiopians have been growing and obsessing about teff for millennia, and it may be set to be become the new "super grain" of choice in Europe and North America, overtaking the likes of quinoa and spelt.
