Man
United blow!
Manchester United
were strongly linked with the 30-year-old and were thought to have enquired
after the centre-back, who was part of the Brazil squad which reached the Copa
America quarter-finals in Chile.
Following his nation’s exit in a penalty shoot-out against
Paraguay, however, Miranda travelled to Italy for a medical on Tuesday before
completing a reported £10million switch to the San Siro.
"Miranda is another great addition to Roberto Mancini's
squad for our new Inter," club president Erick Thohir said of the
Brazilian’s arrival.
“He is as eager as we are to get started on our new
adventure."
Inter, 18-time Serie A winners, are keen to strengthen their
squad after finishing the last season in eighth place.
The defender, who made over 150 appearances for Atletico
since his arrival from Sao Paulo in 2011, was a key member of the side which
beat rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona to the 2013-14 La Liga
title and reached the Champions League
final the same year.
