to get into Hall H on Saturday morning, but until now only pirated
cellphone footage had been circulating online.
Fans who didn’t get into San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H over the weekend finally got their chance to see the trailer for ‘Suicide Squad,’ starring Will Smith (2nd from l.) |
Considering director David Ayer’s supervillain teamup movie is still
filming in Toronto, the three-minutes of footage is pretty impressive.
Much of the trailer may be devoted to gun fights, crashing helicopters
and a car chase featuring a cameo from Ben Affleck’s Batman, but the
money shot belongs to Leto.
“Oh, I’m not going to kill you, I’m just going to hurt you really,
really bad,” the iconic villain warns an unseen victim who’s about to be
electrocuted.
“Suicide Squad,” set to hit theaters on Aug. 5, 2016, chronicles a band
of DC Comics' marquee supervillains led by Will Smith’s Deathstroke,
who are forced to perform dangerous secret missions for the government.
