The Premier League side are desperate to prise the former Chelsea playmaker to the Etihad this summer.
City are reportedly willing to offer £40m for De Bruyne, who
finished last season with a Bundesliga record of 21 assists.
And, according to Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad, City are
also ready to tempt the attacking midfielder with a huge contract.
Should a fee be agreed with Wolfsburg, Manuel Pellegrini's
side are set to put the Belgium international on a long-term deal worth
£230,000-a-week.
That would make De Bruyne the highest paid Belgian
player in world football, dwarfing the
salaries of Eden Hazard and Vincent Kompany.
