Pedro: Barcelona forward has many qualities and goals are one of them – to find out who Chelsea can sign next,
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is believed
to want reinforcements, something many fans would agree with. Another
defender, midfielder and a quality attacker are reportedly priority
signings, so here, talkSPORT looks at possible additions, beginning with
Pedro, who looks like signing for Chelsea ahead of Manchester United.
John Stones: The manager wants to strengthen his defence and the Everton man is a top target
It looks like Chelsea target Antonio Rudiger will join Roma instead of the Blues,
but Mourinho appears set on improving his defence and has been open
about his pursuit of Stones. The club are expected to offer Everton as
much as £35m for the 21-year-old centre-back.
Axel Witsel: Another central midfielder to provide more protection to the defence?
Witsel sitting next to Nemanja Matic in
the middle would allow for Cesc Fabregas to attack more, providing those
crucial assists and weighing in with goals, too. Considering Ramires is
being linked with Juventus, a move for Zenit man Witsel (above, centre)
does not seem so outlandish. The Chelsea defence would also be greatly
improved as it may even allow Kurt Zouma to move into central defence to
play alongside either Stones, Terry or Cahill. Italian club Milan have
been linked with Witsel, however.
Paul Pogba: Expensive, but a superb midfielder in both attack and defence
His would be an expensive transfer, but
Chelsea are one of the few clubs able to afford Pogba. The Juve man is
one of the most highly-rated central midfielder and his club have been
open in claiming a huge offer would leave them with no choice but to
sell the 22-year-old France international.
Ross Barkley: The attacking midfielder to appease fans?
Barkley has begun the season in great
form, but given Everton are likely to sell John Stones, it seems highly
unlikely they will also let 21-year-old midfielder Barkley follow. Some
Chelsea fans feel the club need another attacking midfielder and just
rely on Eden Hazard. Barkley has said previously he enjoys playing
behind the striker, taking opponents on, creating and having shots. Is
he the right player to fill that hole?
