There’s no longer bad blood with Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj.
Music’s biggest superstars performed on stage together at the MTV Video
Music Awards Sunday night more than a month after their Twitter feud
over award nominations went viral.
Minaj opened the award show singing “Trini Dem Girls” and “The Night Is
Still Young,” and had the pop world roaring when Swift appeared on
stage to sing the chorus of her hit song “Bad Blood.” The duo didn’t
address the feud, but smiled and embraced after the surprise
collaboration.
The fight started when Minaj questioned the VMA nominations, specifically the snub of her video “Feeling Myself” with Beyoncé.
The “Anaconda” singer then alluded to "other girls” getting nominated
for the top prize, calling out Swift more directly when she said the
snub was another example of the music world not recognizing black female
artists.
Swift came back on Twitter accusing Minaj of “pit[ting] women against each other,” but later apologized.
Minaj, who won the award for Best Hip Hop Video, made another bold
statement when she arrived to the red carpet in a revealing $15,000
metallic gold sheer Labourjoisie dress.
