The topless titallaters of Times Square figured in two busts Wednesday
night, with one woman accusing a South Carolina businessman of
assaulting her and another getting arrested for drugs and prostitution,
police sources said.
Destiny Romero, 20, one of the painted ladies who hustle tourists for
tips at the Crossroads of the World, sold $200 worth of drugs to an
undercover cop just before midnight Wednesday at 42nd St. and Seventh
Ave., police sources said.
She also offered to perform oral sex on the cop for $200, the sources
said. She's charged with three counts of drug possession and one count
of prostitution, according to the sources.
In the second incident, Southern businessman got into a tussle with two
of the women after accusing one of them of stealing his wallet while
they posed for a photo with him, sources said.
Mark Walters, 46, took a picture with Lourdes Carrasquillo, 20, outside
the Sephora cosmetics store on Broadway at W. 44th St. about 9:30 p.m.
and realized his wallet was missing when he tried to tip her, said the
police sources.
Walters accused Carrasquillo of pickpocketing his wallet and tried to
keep her from getting away by grabbing her hair and shoving her to the
ground, the sources said.
At that point, a second topless woman, Maria Ruiz, 32, who lives with
Carrasquillo in the Bronx, tried to intervene, the sources said.
But Walters, a Bank of America exec from Charleston, allegedly struck her near the right ear.
A cop on a nearby foot post ran over and arrested Walters.
Witnesses disputed his account, sources said. It also appears Carrasquillo had nowhere to hide any wallet on her body.
