Janet Jackson |
The “Control” singer posted a lyric music video and brief message on her social media
accounts Wednesday to debunk rumors about her health, following her
announcement last month that she needed to postpone her “Unbreakable”
world tour to have an unspecified surgical procedure.
“The rumors are untrue, I do not have cancer,” the message stated. “I’m recovering.”
Jackson’s statement seemed to be made in response to a recent Radar Online report alleging she feared she had cancer after doctors found a growth on her vocal cords.
The 49-year-old star also assured fans that her “doctors have approved
my concerts as scheduled in Europe, and as I promised, the postponed
shows will be rescheduled.”

The singer’s European tour dates are scheduled to resume in the spring,
starting with her concert in Birmingham, England on March 30.
Besides thanking her fans for their love and prayers, Jackson also
relayed her thoughts about speculation about her condition via “The
Great Forever,” a song on her latest album “Unbreakable.”
“Not too pleased with what you're diggin' / I'm just busy livin' my
life / Sources say but where ya gettin' it /Don't create the truth you
like,” she sings on the track.
