The Premier League takes a week off
this weekend as the FA Cup returns and Manchester United face Sheffield United in the third round.
The Red Devils reached the quarter
finals last season before they were dumped out by eventual winners Arsenal, but will be looking to go all the way to
Wembley this time around.
United had a long list of injuries
during the festive season and although many have since returned, it is likely
Louis van Gaal will use it as a chance to rest some of his starters.
For example, Anthony Martial who,
despite being signed as one for the future, has been forced to start almost
every game as a result of injuries and poor form elsewhere on the team.
It will all
so be an opportunity for
Van Gaal to give a chance to some of his younger members of his squad such
Andreas Pereira, who is highly rated around Old Trafford.
Adnan Januzaj returned to the club
this week from Borussia Dortmund
and will be raring to go out and prove himself having failed to start a single
Bundesliga game while in Germany.
Among those
definitely not involved
on Saturday are Luke Shaw, Antonio Valencia, Marcos Rojo and Jesse Lingard, who
are all still nursing injuries.
