CBP DAILY FINANCIAL MARKETS UPDATE - 17/02/2016

he Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 1.87%, while the Year-to-Date return stood at -16.01%. The All Share Index closed at 24,056.12 against the previous close of 24,514.91 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦8.273 trillion against previous close of ₦8.431 trillion. Volume traded increased by 15.35% from 290.944 million to 335.612 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 32.22% from ₦2.881 billion to ₦1.952 billion in 2,847 deals.    

The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 297.87 million shares exchanged for ₦0.947 billion. Industrial Goods came next with 15.13 million shares traded for ₦0.167 billion, Consumer Goods, Oil And Gas, Conglomerates sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.

Resortsal, UBA, FCMB, Guaranty and Zenithbank were the most active stocks by volume. Seplat, Npfmcrfbk, NAHCO, Maybaker and NEM emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while NNFM, Unilever, Learnafrca, Oando and Guinness topped the losers chart.
