The 47-year-old former fashion magazine cover staple appeared in
Stamford court for allegedly backing her Range Rover into another car at
a stop sign last month and refusing a sobriety test.
She declined to comment, but her attorney, Phillip Russell, said she
expected to enter an "accelerated alcohol education program" generally
available to first-time offenders.
"This is an ordinary first-offender drunk driving case where our
experience is that most first offenders do not drive drunk again,"
Russell said. "Ms. Seymour has been appropriate throughout this whole
process and is behaving like a first offender."
The attorney added he does not believe his client has a drinking
problem. She is due back in court April 4, where a judge will decide
whether she can enter the program.
The mother of three allegedly backed into the other vehicle at a highway off-ramp. No one was injured.
An officer at the scene noted Seymour smelled like alcohol.
"After six or seven requests for her license, registration and
insurance, she finally was able to fumble through her purse as she
handed over her Connecticut driver's license along with a credit card,"
the police report read.
The 5-foot-10 stunner, married to billionaire real estate developer
Peter Brant, was one of the world's most famous supermodels of the late
80s and early 90s.
She previously dated Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose, and starred in the
band's video for the iconic power ballad, "November Rain."
