Jessica Lowndes, 27, divulged on social media over the weekend that
she's dating comedian Jon Lovitz, who is 31 years her senior. But by
late Monday, she posted a video on Instagram implying that it was all an
early April Fools' Day hoax.
"I know it's the last week of March, but is it too early to say, 'April Fools?," she said in the video.
She first teased their supposed relationship by sharing a photo of her
legs gripped by Lovitz's hand with the caption, "his hands are wise and
tell a thousand stories…#smitten #hatersgonnahate."
It's unclear how long the duo have known each other, but photos
surfaced Monday of the two stars frolicking in the pool in Honolulu in
January 2015 after they guest-starred on an episode of "Hawaii Five-0."
The "90210" star posted another pic of two bowls of ice cream with the
caption, "You say sugar daddy but I say ice cream daddy! Lol."
Lowndes then followed it up with a clip of her announcing, "No, I
haven't been hacked. I'm just really excited to be able to finally share
this secret with you guys," before posting a pic of what looks to be a
gorgeous engagement ring.
In yet another video, the Canadian-born actress can be seen rolling
around in bed while Lovitz can be heard promising that he was not
"videoing" her.
"When bae films you waking up in the morning," Lowndes wrote. "#TooOldToUseHashtags #MrBig."
The "SNL" alum seemed to be in on the gag, confirming a relationship on his Twitter account with a photo of Lowndes.
"Easter with my bunny, @jessicalowndes," he penned, with several heart emojis.
Despite these posts, many social media users suspected the two stars had made up the new romance for April Fools' Day.
Among the skeptics was supermodel Chrissy Teigen, who tweeted "I smell April fools on this lowndes/lovitz relationship, but if I'm wrong whoops jk screw
Lowndes once dated Scottish rugby player Thom Evans and Lovitz was previously linked to model Janice Dickinson.
