Following the last announcement on the ongoing renovation work by the MTN Foundation (MTNF) and JNCI, on Maternal Ward Support initiative in six states- Abia, Cross River, Oyo, Niger, Kaduna and Sokoto- equipment have arrived in Oyo State.  

 

The equipment have been installed in the four beneficiary hospitals in Oyo; Ring Road State Hospital, Ibadan; Adeoyo Maternity Hospital, Ibadan; General Hospital Oyo and General Hospital, Igbeti.

Under this project, MTNF has taken up the mandate to renovate 24 maternal centres in the six beneficiary states. According to MTN, the Maternal Ward Support initiative is aimed at complementing the national objective of reducing maternal and infant mortality in Nigeria. 

Renovation and installation work has also commenced in the other beneficiary states; Cross River, Abia, Sokoto, Kaduna and Niger.
