On Tuesday, June 14, the White House
Council on Women and Girls hosted the first ever ‘United State of Women’
Summit in Washington DC.
The summit focused on gender equality issues such as the wage gap, access to education and the importance of female leadership across all fields and was attended by several notable people who spoke at the event.
Actresses Kerry Washington and Patricia Arquette were at the event as well as President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joseph Biden, Producer Shonda Rhimes, Media Mogul Oprah Winfrey, billionaire magnate Warren Buffett, U.S. House Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi, U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch and more.
