Shortly after Forbes
revealed that the world-famous socialite will grace its next cover,
Kardashian celebrated with a not-so-subtle dig at her critics who say
she doesn't have any real skills.
"Such a tremendous honor to be on the cover of @forbes!" she wrote on Instagram. "I never dreamed this would happen and know my Dad would be so proud. #NotBadForAGirlWithNoTalent."
The cover features a professionally dressed Kardashian with her arms
crossed and the headline "The New Mobile Moguls" emblazoned on top of
her.
The magazine teases that she's personally taken home a whopping $45
million from her mobile app "Kim Kardashian: Hollywood" since its 2014
launch — offering further proof that her shrewdly put-together business
empire expands far beyond her reality TV show.
"I realized this is really going to be the next cycle of my career and
this is what I want to focus on," Kardashian, 35, told the magazine.
The new issue also includes Forbes' annual list of the world's
highest-earning celebrities. Even though Kardashian, who raked in $51
million last year, is on the cover, she only ranked 42nd among the
stars.
Pop diva Taylor Swift topped the list with a gaudy $170 million income
on the strength of her sprawling "1989 World Tour" last year, and if
Kardashian's success is any indicator, she could be in store more hefty
paydays in the future. The company that created "Kim Kardashian:
Hollywood" is set to release a game starring Swift next year.
One Direction finished in a distant second on this year's list after
earning $110 million, while Adele notably placed ninth with $80.5
million.
