Nollywood superstar and irokoWorld’s Global Ambassador, Funke Akindele, delighted fans this week, with a number of special meet-and-greet experiences at locations across Lagos.
The Jenifa’s Diary
writer and star character was on top form, celebrating the huge success
of irokoWorld on Startimes’ channel 23, which has 24 hour programming of
top Nollywood movies and TV series such as Festac Town.
Many of Funke Akindele’s fans from across the city flocked to see her,
and she spent time meeting them (many of whom were in search of secret
Nollywood gist), answering their questions, and taking selfies.
The global irokoWorld roadshow had
started in May, when Funke and the irokoWorld team headed to London,
promoting the hugely successful channel to UK fans. The highlight of her
week in the city was an exclusive sold-out red carpet event at the
Greenwich ODEON IMAX, a screening of Jenifa’s Diary Season 5, currently
available on irokotv, as well as a full and frank Q&A session with
the star.
After so much love and adoration from her fans abroad, she felt it only right to bring the party back to Lagos!
July 27th marked the first day of the
irokoWorld roadshow, an army of fans stormed the Startimes Brand Hall in
Mushin and waited anxiously to see their beloved ‘Jenifa’. It was so
much fun as most fans got an opportunity to take selfies and ask the
star some questions.
On July 28, yet more fans took over the
Fagba-Agege Startimes Hall in anticipation of catching a glimpse of
their favourite star. The crowd was overwhelming when she arrived with
her co-stars Joy Nice (Pelumi) and Adejumoke Aderonmu
(Esther). Fans were not disappointed as the irokoWorld brand Ambassador
patiently took time to interact with everyone, displaying her soft spot
for children as she spent enough time making them laugh and sharing
gifts with them.

The roadshow rounded up with an extremely well coordinated event at Startimes Branded Hall at Sanusi Fafunwa, Victoria Island. Lots of irokoWorld fans showed up, had a chat, took more selfies and received a bag of goodies from irokoworld.
