BUSINESS: Travellers warned against pushy trolley porters at OR Tambo International

Don’t be bullied by "aggressive" trolley porters demanding excessive amounts at OR Tambo International Airport‚ urges a corporate travel website.

Travel and Meetings Buyer (TAM) reported that two "separate client groups fell victim to the operators and paid R980 and R1 400 to OR Tambo International Airport trolley staff for pushing their luggage".

It is said the porters became "quite aggressive" when the international travellers offered them less cash.

Airports Company South Africa told TAM that these incidents should be reported to the police‚ and said airport-accredited porters were identifiable by the bright orange uniform clearly stating porters’ names and operating numbers.
