President Obama's farewell bash looked more like a Hollywood after party.
While Donald Trump has had trouble booking top shelf stars for his Jan.
20 inauguration, the farewell party for the Obamas at 1600 Pennsylvania
Ave. was stocked with celebrities, close friends and major donors,
including Chris Rock, Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks and countless others.
There certainly wasn't a shortage of high-profile guests.
Among those in attendance were David Letterman, Gloria Estefan, Magic
Johnson, Al Roker, Lena Dunham, Ken Burns, Stevie Wonder, Lorne
Michaels, Usher, Harvey Weinstein, Bradley Cooper, Anna Wintour, John
Legend and Chrissy Teigen, Robert De Niro, Kelly Rowland, George Lucas,
Jon Hamm and Steven Spielberg, according to several reports.
Beyoncé, Jay Z and Paul McCartney were also among those said to have partied with the Obamas.
While photos from inside the event are sparse, as phones were not
allowed inside, some celebs took to social media to write about
attending the bash or shared images outside of the actual party space.
"Bout to fly 21 hours to DC to bid farewell to the greatest president in
US history. God bless you @POTUS," Chance the Rapper wrote ahead of the
event.
"Straight off the plane to the White House...," Nick Jonas wrote along
with a picture of himself and "Kingdom" co-star Jonathan Tucker.
“The one party we’ll wait in line to get into,” DJ Cassidy, who DJed
the party, captioned an Instagram photo with John Legend, Chrissy
Teigen, Jerry Seinfeld and Jessica Seinfeld.
Singer Jordin Sparks brought her father, former NFL star Phillippi Sparks, as her date.
“Getting to take my Dad to the White House...Priceless,” she captioned
an Instagram selfie. “Soooo excited! Cheers! *drops mic*.”
Solange Knowles and Pharrell Williams both performed at the send off.
The private affair was said to have went on until 4 a.m. In the past, the couple has picked up the tab for such lavish parties.
On Tuesday, Obama will deliver his final address to the nation, from his hometown of Chicago.
Trump is to be sworn into office on Jan. 20.
