A possible return of the ’90s hit “Beverly Hills, 90210” has taken a
step forward, with much of the cast on board after a secret reunion last
month.

In August, Ian Ziering told Confidenti@l
that the streaming network Hulu was looking at a return for the Beverly
Hills teen drama, which ran from 1990 to 2000, and made stars out of
cast members including Shannen Doherty, Luke Perry, Jason Priestley,
Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling.
Now his co-star Gabrielle Carteris has delivered a broad hint that an announcement is coming soon.
“We won't define where yet, but we've talked about a reunion and I was
just with the cast actually last month,” revealed Carteris, who played
shy valedictorian Andrea Zuckerman in the Fox drama.
When a “Beverly Hills, 90210” reunion might be delivered remains to be seen.
“It depends on how it's suggested and offered, but I think there's room,” she said. “There's always room.”
Carteris said a reunion without Doherty — who’s battling breast cancer
and missed last month's get together — would be unthinkable. But she
expressed confidence that TV’s Brenda Walsh, who has completed
chemotherapy, would be on board.
“Why wouldn't she?” said Carteris, speaking at the IMC Publicist's
Guild Awards in Beverly Hills. “She's here. I'm sure everybody's
invited.”
She added: “I haven't spoken to her. I've checked in and I'm hearing
she's fighting the good fight. Of course I wish her only the best. I
pray for her and I know she's a strong woman and I'm grateful she's
speaking out, because every time somebody has an issue, or conflict, or
illness, when they can share it like Shannon's doing, it helps other
people who are struggling as well.”
Created by Darren Star and later produced by Aaron Spelling, the show
followed a group of photogenic young Southern Californians through high
school and beyond; a reunion could pick up with the characters in
adulthood and see where they landed.
Asked about plot points, Carteris — who is also president of the
actor's union, SAG-AFTRA — said it's in the hands of the network.
“I have no idea what they are doing with the story, but what I can say
is I love being with my old cast mates, whether it's in front of the
camera or behind the camera. I'm glad that we're close.”
