Christmas Hampers can make perfect gifts for family and friends, and there are some wonderful ones out there.
What is annoying is when unscrupulous providers stuff the bottom with tissue paper and cardboard to make it seem much fuller than it really is, knowing you won’t open them before dispatching them.
When you look at almost expired tins of baked beans or sweet corn, custard or biscuits, stale Christmas cakes, you feel so sorry for the person that paid so much to give you a gift; yet they’ll never know that it was full of sub standard items that do not in any way reflect their relationship with you. Most annoying!
Naturally its much more convenient to buy a ready made hamper but if you have the time or inclination and are presenting several, making them up yourself works out cheaper and makes for a nice, more well thought out gift than if you just buy one off the shelf.
Consider creating your own personalized gifts for family and friends and fill them with a selection of their favourite things. By buying items in bulk you can save on costs and split the contents. Involve your children; this makes for a great family activity!
