Nigeria- Some few days after the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, warned the civil servants in the state not to blackmail him over non-payment of salaries, the governor has sacked 1,774 workers and retired 8 permanent secretaries and some directors.
Bello, had warned the civil servants during his New Year broadcast, to resist from conniving with detractors to blackmail his administration or be dealth with.
But, Kogi State Government on Sunday confirmed the compulsory retirement of eight permanent secretaries, some directors and dismissal of 1,774 others from the state civil service.
