Ambode Appoints Matanmi as GM Lagos Wastewater

Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has approved the appointment of Engr. Maroof Adebola Matanmi as the new General Manager of the Lagos Wastewater Management Office as part of efforts to rejuvenate and correct wastewater practices in the State.

Until his appointment, Matanmi was the Acting Coordinator of the Office after the elevation of the immediate past coordinator, Engr. Abdul as Permanent Secretary.
Matanmi, a well rounded professional, had previously worked as Council Engineer and Head of the Engineering department in various Local Government Areas across the State.

The new General Manager later joined the mainstream civil service in 2006 and had a short stint at the Sewage Department of Ministry of Environment before he was deployed to the Ministry of Transportation as Director, Transport Operations.

He was redeployed to the Lagos State Wastewater Office in 2017 as Acting Coordinator before the recent appointment as the General Manager on February 7, 2018.
