Seafood Merchant caught putting Googly Eyeballs on Aging Fish

A recent update says: Kuwaiti authorities have reportedly shut down a seafood merchant after discovering the seller was replacing the eyes of dead fish with fake plastic ones that make the carcasses appear fresher than they were.

The news outlet Al Bayan reported the story, accompanied by photos that quickly went viral online.

According to food site thekitchn.com, fresh fish when refrigerated should be cooked within two days — three at the most.
