Doctors in Akwa Ibom State give Government 21 days ultimatum over backlog of arrears

Doctors In AKSG Employ Demand Payment Of Arrears and Emoluments.

Doctors under the auspices of National Association Of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners (NAGGMDP) have reminded the Akwa Ibom State Government of arrears, entitlement and emoluments being owed its members in government employ since 2015. 

Arising  from the emergency general meeting of the body, the doctors stated that arrears being owed include: 

1. 14 months salary arrears owed doctors employed in 2014/2015

2. Six months arrears owed doctors employed in 2017

3. Six months CONMESS arrears owed doctors in government employ. 

4. Promotion Arrears owed doctors in Akwa Ibom State employ.

In a communiqué signed after the congress of the association  by Sir( Dr) Anthony Umana , chairman and Elder (Dr) Enobong Akpan, Secretary; the doctors described government as being insensitive to their plight despite extensive negotiation and advocacies made at different times in the past three years.

The leadership of NAGGMDP called on  the AKSG to address their concerns in 21 Days or be ready for industrial actions.

It has also called on all well meaning individuals in public and private sectors to advise government to meet the above demands and on time, as industrial harmony will no longer be guaranteed thereafter.
