Akwa Ibom Youth Ambassadors, a non-government organization based in Uyo, has concluded plans for its mega youth conference tagged AKWA IBOM YOUTH AMBASSADORS CONFERENCE. This epoch-making event is scheduled to hold on Friday, 8th February 2019, at the Conference Hall of Daaty Hotel, Ewet Housing Estate Uyo, by 10am.

In a brief made available to the Press by the leader of the group, Arc. Chris Umoren, Akwa Ibom Youth Conference is initiated by AKWA IBOM YOUTH AMBASSADORS (AKIYA) to sensitize the youths on dangers of electoral violence and being allowed to be used to perpetrate criminal acts in the society.

The event will also feature talks on entrepreneurship, self-development, youth participation in nation building, leadership and self-reliance. This first-of-its-kind Conference is also aimed at empowering the youths in various skills.

“We believe we can use the upcoming conference to preach love, oneness, unity and peace to the youths of Akwa Ibom State, thereby forestalling violence, thuggery, tension and possible deaths during and after the elections. This will enhance a better and more peaceful Akwa Ibom State.” Arc. Chris added.

Akwa Ibom Youth Ambassadors is an organization saddled with the responsibility of sanitizing the mind of the youth and creating conscious awareness amongst them in awakening their roles, rights, obligations, and duties to their immediate community and the society at large, including how they can better their lives and develop their state within their capacities.

This conference promises to offer a platform for young people and key stakeholders to showcase their work, share ideas, experiences and innovative approaches for effectively addressing youth challenges in Akwa Ibom State.
