Lagos Fashion Week is excited to announce the launch of Prosper Africa’s Creative Industries Report which will be taking place today, Friday, 28th October, hosted by CrossBoundary in Lagos from 10am WAT.
Prosper Africa is a U.S. Government initiative that provides tools and resources to increase two-way
trade and investment between the U.S. and African countries. The report explores the trends, opportunities and challenges that exist across Africa’s creative industries, with a focus on fashion, music, art, film, sports, and gaming. The report recommends various strategic mechanisms to increase private capital into African creative industries and facilitate long-term partnerships for capacity building and export. The event includes a roundtable discussion with institutional investors, fashion buyers, Nigerian fashion brands and key industry stakeholders. The topic of the roundtable is “Financing the African fashion ecosystem”, and participants will explore the necessary structures and tools required to propel the industry forward, while also highlighting the unique challenges they’ve faced from a financing perspective. The roundtable will be followed by a networking session that is open to a wider audience, during which we will also distribute the final report.
