Darren Fletcher backs West Brom teammate Saido Berahino to make England impact after Aston Villa winner

The 22-year-old felt the wrath of Baggies fans after expressing his disappointment that he did not seal a move to Tottenham on transfer deadline day.

But he is in the good books again after firing West Brom to victory against Villa on Saturday, and Fletcher is delighted to see his teammate back doing what he does best.

"I thought he was fantastic on Saturday. He's a great player and we want him to be a great player for West Bromwich Albion while he's here," Fletcher said.

An England great has to have either had great success with the national team, like Bobby Moore, Bobby Charlton or Gordon Banks. Failing that, at the very least he has to have created great individual moments while playing for England, like David Beckham, Paul Gascoigne and David Nugent (OK, not really).

Manchester United have won FIVE Premier League titles, two League Cups and a Champions League trophy during his time at the club and there’s not one person on earth who would dare dispute the role Rooney has played in helping the Red Devils achieve those honours.
