The Liverpool starlet is
eligible to play for the Super Eagles through his grandfather and has been
courted by their head coach Sunday Oliseh.
But having received his first England Under-21 call-up
earlier this month, Ibe has decided to shun their interest and set
his sights on a senior Three Lions spot.
Olishe revealed the news on Twitter,
writing: "Jordon Ibe's Family Informed me by a Telephone call, that
He was giving priority to an England call up.We wish them well."
Roy Hodgson could now
promote the 19-year-old to his senior squad possibly even as early as next
month, when England play their dead-rubber Euro 2016 qualifiers against Estonia
and Lithuania.
