Income Inequality is the Leading Destroyer of American Families- says Marriage Therapist

This year's election has become a circus of fools and folly.

On the Republican side we have a reality TV star and a posse of human rights bandits manipulating a desperate and angry crowd.

On the Democratic side it's not much better. There are candidates who talk of the most important issue facing our nation — income inequality — but one's used her position of power to feather her own family's nest and the other speaks of income inequality in a polarizing voice.

America is not a socialist nation. It's a nation whose excellence was built on the hopes and dreams of a capitalistic system, a system where every citizen regardless of race, religion, gender and socioeconomic position can achieve a better life for herself and her family.

Use Martin Luther King Day to Encourage Inequality too

As the U.S. celebrated Martin Luther King Day, Americans gave themselves a collective pat on the back and admired how far our nation has come from the despair and racial violence that had once engulfed our nation many decades ago.

 

While progress has been made, 2015 shook up the status quo and unveiled for many a fact they would have rather ignored – that bigotry and racism were still rampant.

As a divorce attorney, I see that same veil draped upon the eyes of Americans when it comes to marriage equality between same-sex couples.

This underlying fear can go unnoticed for years as we surround ourselves with the same progressives (in favor of those liberties) or conservatives (concerned morally, religiously or otherwise, but generally unconnected with the African American community or LGBT community).

Percentages of Africa living in Poverty gone down..........

The percentage of Africans living in poverty has gone down since 1990 but the numbers have gone up due to population growth, World Bank President Jim Yong Kim said in Accra on Friday, October 16.

Dr Kim who was in Accra to launch a World Bank report “Poverty in a rising Africa” as part of activities to mark ‘End Poverty Day’, remarked that the news concerning poverty in Africa over the past two years “is both encouraging and sobering.”

“Half of all people living in extreme poverty live in Africa. Compared to 1990, the percentage of people living in poverty in Africa has dropped significantly but the overall number of people living in extreme poverty has gone up 63 million”, he said.

Dr Akinwumi Adesina, the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) said the story of a rising Africa “not a complete story” though Africa is rising and is home to six of the ten fastest growing economies.

He noted that while there is growth in Africa, the growth “is underlined by high
