New Survey:- No Need to Marry, Have Kids to Be Fulfilled

Fewer than one in three adults in the U.S. believe that it is essential to marry in order to live a fulfilling life, and only 36 percent believe that having kids is essential to fulfillment. The findings are from a survey conducted by the Center for the Study of Elections and Democracy at Brigham Young University, together with Deseret News of Salt Lake City. Participants were 3,000 adults whose characteristics resemble those of the general population. They were questioned in July of 2018 and the results were reported in the last week of November.

Talulah Riley files to Divorce Billionaire Mogul, Elon Musk

Elon Musk's marriage to British actress Talulah Riley has short-circuited — again.

Riley, 30, filed paperwork Monday to pull the plug on her second union with the billionaire mogul behind Tesla Motors and SpaceX.

"Elon Musk and his wife Talulah Riley have announced that they are ending their marriage amicably," the couple said in a joint statement obtained by the Daily News.

The Texas-born stunner is trading in life as the woman Rolling Stone Mick Jagger never married to become the fourth Mrs. Rupert Murdoch.

The November-December couple — she’s 59 to his 84 — made the announcement Monday in The Times of London, which Murdoch owns.

“It’s ridiculous to watch them together. Beauty and the Beast,” said a source familiar with the courtship.

Murdoch is executive chairman at News Corp., which also owns the downmarket New York Post. He has written checks for years to the tune of hundreds of millions to keep the flailing tabloid afloat. Despite his best efforts, the money-losing rag continues to be irrelevant, most say.

“Mr. Rupert Murdoch ... and Miss Jerry Hall ... are delighted to announce their engagement,” the London Times announcement read.

The unlikely duo apparently met four months ago and have been dating ever since.

“They have loved these past months together, are thrilled to be getting married and excited about their future,” a Murdoch family rep told the London newspaper.

Others do not so warmly share their bliss.

In the study, women accounted for the breakups of 69 percent of the marriages that ended in divorce. They also reported much lower levels of marital bliss than men did.

But it’s not that women are unhappier in all relationships: In fact, they were no more likely than guys to pull the plug on dating or cohabiting relationships—and they weren’t any less satisfied in them.

Margaret Cho has filed for divorce from her husband Al Ridenour after 11 years of marriage.

The comedian, who announced that she was pulling the plug on her relationship last December, attributed the split to "irreconcilable difference," according to papers obtained by People.

Cho's relationship was not traditional, but it once worked for her and husband, who agreed on an open marriage.

"I'm married to a man but I'm bisexual so I like both. We got together because ...we both have this (idea), 'I just don't want to have sex with the same person my whole life. That's just gross,'" she told "The Real" in 2013.
