Here are Lollipop's Gangnam Style winners

When 24-year-old school programme executive Valerie Song was on a holiday with her two siblings, her brother suggested that they make the trip more memorable by filming themselves doing the Gangnam Style dance at various locations.

So the Song Sibs - as they called themselves - performed K-pop star Psy's iconic horse dance throughout Europe and Africa.

Their music video stood out among six entries vying for the top prize in the three-month long Gangnam Style Contest to mark the launch of Lollipop, Stomp's vibrant entertainment website with a distinct focus on the Asian scene - from K-pop to the Asian movie industry.

As the top-prize winner, Valerie was given Harvey Norman gift vouchers worth $300.

Lollipop readers like her had been invited to submit videos of themselves doing their best Gangnam Style renditions.

When asked about her winning video, Valerie said that her older sister, 25-year-old Felicia, a postgraduate, was initially hesitant about dancing in front of strangers.

However, after she and her brother, Rexford, a 19-year-old polytechnic student, tried out an impromptu dance together with Felicia when they were in Spain, the latter changed her mind.

The Song Sibs also managed to convince their tour group to participate in a Gangnam Style flash mob outside a pub in Portugal.

Even though many of the tour members had never heard of Psy and Gangnam Style before then, they were surprisingly game.

But their flash mob almost didn't happen when the DJ at the pub refused to play the Gangnam Style song.

"Thankfully, the owner of the pub loved the catchy tune of Gangnam Style, and got the DJ to play it for us," Valerie said.

If you think dancing Gangnam Style across two continents was hard, try doing it in a place where you've probably never imagined - underwater.

That was exactly what consolation winner Dave Ulmer did.
