BlackBerry World App Catalog Boasts 100000 BB10 Applications.

Research In Motion (RIM) launched it's new operating system BlackBerry 10 along with 70,000 apps. In a Q&A session at the launch, BlackBerry CMO Frank Boulben said the number will go up to 100,000. Looks like the Canadian company is living up to it's promise, as it BlackBerry's app store now has added 30,000 extra apps to its, arsenal.

Some big names making way to the apps store. Amazon Kindle, OpenTable, and The Wall Street Journal. CNN, The Daily Show, eBay, eMusic, Maxim, MLB at Bat, MTV News, Pageonce, PGA, Rdio, Skype, Soundhound, and Viber are said to become available in the coming weeks.

"Top brands and application providers are joining us every day and are seeing the benefits of being early supporters of the new platform. We constantly hear from developers that the BlackBerry 10 tools are easy to build with and that we provide opportunities for app differentiation that they do not see on other platforms," Martyn Mallick, VP of global alliances at BlackBerry, said in a statement.

BlackBerry has often, been criticized for having fewer apps, compared to Android or iOS platforms. With 100,000 apps BlackBerry 10 should silence the critics. Many of these apps are in-fact re-packaged Android apps.

Like Gizbot mentioned before the new BlackBerry platform offers tool-sets that enable Android developers to easily port Android apps to the BlackBerry platform. This being the case it won't be a surprise to see, lot more apps making way to BlackBerry 10.
