Ghanaian Cost of Tomatoes Drop Further in Ghana Markets

Checks by Esoko Ghana revealed that there has been a stable supply of the local tomatoes from the growing areas such as Tuabodom, Akumadan and Navrongo.

A “medium size tomato tin” full of fresh tomatoes sold about GHS 13.21 dropping 31 percent in Accra.


In Kumasi it dropped 24 percent to close the week at GHS 7.00.
Techiman experienced an 11 percent decrease to close at GHS 10.00, with Takoradi also loosing 6 percent to close the week at GHS 14.40.

The commodity however gained 22 percent in Bawku to close the week at GHS 12.00.
Meanwhile, some commodities made marginal gains this week.
The highest gain of 3 percent was made by cowpea and maize with an olunka of cowpea been sold at an average price of GHS 7.40 while maize was sold at GHS 4.50 per olunka.

Wheat, however made losses of 9 and 1 percent respectively to close the week.
