Senator Dino Melaye has tweeted that his house is under "siege," saying his "gate blocked."
He added that:
"Over 30 heavily armed fierce looking mobile police men have just stormed My residence in Maitama, Abuja.
"All roads leading to House has been condoned off, as heavy mobile police men blocked entry & exit of the road. They currently laid siege on in and around the house."
Meanwhile, Nigerian Immigration Service has confirmed the arrest of Melaye at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja Monday morning.
Spokesman of the Service, Sunday James, told the News Agency of Nigeria that Melaye was arrested by Immigration officials “based on instruction.”
He was, however, released after interrogation and went to his house.
Nigeria Police Force had declared Melaye wanted after he was accused of supplying arms to some murder suspects, who allegedly implicated him. But the Senator has since denied the allegations.
