If you followed the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon on Saturday, February 2, 2019, on social media, you must have observed how several runners recreated the Finish Together animation where the Access Bank and Diamond Bank lead runners finished together and gave each other a high five.
Early last week, the animated video commercial
had made
waves online and seized the narrative of this year’s marathon
to reflect the ongoing merger of Access Bank and Diamond Bank. The
presence of the GMD/CEO of Access Bank, Herbert Wigwe and the GMD/CEO of Diamond Bank, Uzoma Dozie throughout the event also lent weight to the trending #TogetherForYou as they were visibly active, cheering and awarding the participants.
The
underlying message was clear that at the heart of the merger between
the two banks, is the desire to provide their over 29 million customers
with stronger innovations and a wider reach. This was also evident in
the collaboration of about 3,000 volunteers, partners and staff of the
two banks who executed a successful marathon that had over 100,000
runners.
It is expected that Access Bank’s historic strength in
corporate banking and Diamond Bank’s leadership in digital and
mobile-led retail banking will achieve exceptional strides and deliver
loads of benefits to the customers of the two banks. Currently, the
banks’ customers enjoy a range of bank products, 3,100 ATMs which are
free of transactional charges as well as 600 branches nationwide.
