Ghanaian Debts of Government Institutions affect operations of Water Company

The piled up debts of Government institutions across the country of water bills is affecting the operations of the Ghana Water Company Limited. 

The Acting  Regional Chief  Manager, Ms Janet Atebiya, disclosed this to the GNA during the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Company in Bolgatanga,  in the Upper East Region, on the theme, “Portable Water Provision in Ghana: Prospects for the Future”.

Ms Atebiya explained that the Company spends huge sums of money importing water treatment items to be able to treat water for the general public and the state institutions.
She also mentioned the failure of customers to settle their bills promptly, coupled with the illegal connection by some recalcitrant people as some of the factors hampering the smooth

President Mahama: Speaks to justifies Ghana's huge public debt

President John Dramani Mahama has discounted claims that his administration is only interested in piling up the country's debt stock to the detriment of the good of the country.

Explaining the nation’s current debt stock at a forum with National Democratic Congress (NDC) faithful in Cape Coast, President Mahama indicated that debts owed by state enterprises have been added to the country’s debt stock thus shooting up the figure astronomically.

Aubrey O'Day, 31, and Shannon Bex, 35, sat down with "The Breakfast Club," where they called out the record producer for walking away with their hard earned cash and leaving them with debt.

When asked why they didn't make any money during their Danity Kane days, the pair agreed that the rap mogul was to blame.

Debt Negotiations stall on Greek Bank Stocks

Stocks in the National Bank of Greece and Piraeus fell approximately 9%, while Alpha bank fell by almost 10%.
 
Officials from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) pulled out of talks with Greek politicians in Brussels yesterday, citing "major differences".
Greece is seeking to avoid defaulting on a €1.5bn debt repayment to the IMF.
