"The only thing that separates women of color from anyone is opportunity," David said before thanking Shonda Rimes, Halle Berry and Taraji P. Henson for breaking down the racial boundaries in Hollywood.

It's about time! Actor Jon Hamm finally accepted the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Don Draper in "Mad Men" after been nominated for the role for a total of 8 times. Hamm accepted the top prize from Tina Fey after hilariously clambering onto the stage before thanking "families who have chosen, for some reason, to take me in and be nice to me along this strange, strange road."

More than a year after a car accident left him in a serious condition and killed his friend Jimmy McNair, Tracy Morgan returned to the stage for a surprise appearance at the Emmys on Sept. 20, 2015. "It's been a long road back," he went on. "I suffered a traumatic brain injury that put me in a coma for eight days," Morgan said which saw him receive at standing ovation from the audience. Morgan took to the stage to present the award for best drama series, which went to "Game of Thrones."

Host of the evening Andy Samberg hit the stage with Jane Lynch to serve up a quippy opening monologue complete with some hilarious jokes. "Tonight, instead of being played off by the orchestra, you're going to have to deal with the mean nun from Game of Thrones. So keep those speeches tight," Samberg said as Glee's Jane Lynch walked on stage shouting "Shame! Shame! Shame!" in a nun's robe.

Double trouble! Comedy powerhouses Amy Poehler and Amy Schumer had the audience in laughing fits as they joined the stage together as presenters, introducing themselves as "We are Amy." "Let's not forget what tonight is really about, celebrating hilarious women, and letting the Internet weigh in on who looks worst."

Someone was hungry! Jimmy Kimmel was supposed to announce the winner for the lead actor of a comedy series ... before he chowed down the card, not before peeking a look at the winner! "They keep these envelopes in a locked brief case attached to a man's wrist, there's so much security and then they just hand it to me," Kimmel told the audience. "Now really, I can give the Emmy to whoever I want ... What are they going to do, stop the show?" Kimmel joked.
