Johnny Depp made a crude joke about President Trump while speaking at Glastonbury Thursday.
“When was the last time an actor assassinated a President?” the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star asked the crowd.
“I want to qualify, I am not an actor.
I lie for a living. However, it has been a while and maybe it is time.”
While the 54-year-old actor didn’t explicitly name John Wilkes Booth,
who killed Abraham Lincoln in 1865, he was met with a medley of cheers
and boos at his comment.
Depp’s assassination remark comes just a few weeks after Kathy Griffin
posed with a severed head of the President and was met with immediate
backlash.
The comedian, who was fired from her annual New Year’s Eve CNN special
with Anderson Cooper apologized for the image but said at a press
conference in early June that the First Family is “personally trying to
ruin my life forever.”
Depp’s rep did not immediately return a request for comment.
