What Exactly Is Cryotherapy—and Is It Safe?

We happen to think that entering a subzero degree chamber and literally freezing your ass off for a few minutes—in an effort to fight aging, inflammation, uneven skin tone, and more physical maladies—sounds a little cray. But there are plenty of people who disagree with us. Systemic (a.k.a. total body) cryotherapy claims many benefits, and A LOT of men and women have been buying into it lately.

 
But, as total-body cryotherapy gains popularity as a spa treatment and with star athletes, it’s also receiving a lot of heat from the medical community—especially after the death of a 24-year-old employee at a cryotherapy spa in Las Vegas last year. (According to the Washington Post, Chelsea Ake-Salvacion got locked inside the chamber for 10 hours after the spa she worked at closed for the night).

Listening to Music 'Reduces Pain and Anxiety' for Surgery Patients- Research

Researchers at Queen Mary University of London said the patients who had listened to music had been less anxious after their surgery and had needed less pain relief. 

 

Writing in the Lancet, they said music had been effective even while patients had been under general anaesthetic.

The Department of Health said doctors should consider the findings.

Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has recalled when she almost took her own life. The actress who has had more than her fair share of controversies and criticism spoke on almost how anger, and hate almost consumed her.

She revealed her broken past on her Instagram page today, April 22, 2015. "Woke up reflecting on who I am and how far I have grown spiritually, physically as a woman. I had so much anger, so much venom, so much hate to give. I didn't understand why, neither did i give a hoot" expressed Tonto Dikeh in the caption of her Instagram post.
