What It’s Like To Have Sex After Gender-Confirmation Surgery

"Sex Life after Gender-Confirmation Surgery......."

In high school, I considered myself gay because I was in a male body and was attracted to boys. But I always dressed feminine: I had bleached-blonde hair and wore makeup, girls’ jeans, and tight shirts.

I come from small town in Indiana, where it seemed like everyone was straight and in a relationship. I was often the oddball left alone at the end of the night. I never had any sexual experiences with girls. They’d try, but I wasn’t interested. I even felt suicidal at times, because I didn’t feel like I could express my attraction or love for men.

My first hookup was junior year of high school, with a boy from a different town who played football. We gave each other head. For the first time, I felt worthy. To have this boy hold me, to have a physical connection with someone, made me feel so

England's chief medical officer has called the issue a "ticking time bomb".
In this report, a team of scientists from a number of different American institutions estimated that as many as half of all bacteria that cause infections after surgery are resistant to antibiotics in the US.

Knee or Hip replacements Increase Heart Attack and Blood Clot Risk: study

Operations to replace a knee or a hip appear to increase heart attack risk in the short term and the risk of blood clots in the long term, according to a new study.
The heart attack risk falls again over time, but blood clot risk is still elevated years later, the researchers found.

Heart attack risk was highest in that first month following surgery and declined again over time.

The reason for the elevated risks is unclear at this point, said senior author Yuqing Zhang of Boston University School of Medicine in email to Reuters Health.
Regardless, he said, the findings suggest that the risk of a heart attack in the weeks after total joint replacement surgery “may have been previously underappreciated,” and ways to prevent this serious complication may need to be considered.

Study Shows How Contact Lenses Can Affect Your Appearance Over Time

While contact lenses might improve your eyesight without the need for clunky glasses, they might also be having an unintended effect on your appearance. According to a new study published in Aesthetic Surgery Journal, use of contact lenses seemingly leads to eyelid droopiness.

Researchers reviewed photographs of 96 sets of identical twins who met in Twinsburg, Ohio, on a yearly basis from 2008 to 2010, measuring the level of eyelid droopiness (called “ptosis”) in each.
