Shan George exposes Soundcity staff – Nollywood actress Shan George has called out a staff of music channel Soundcity for collecting money and not giving service.

The actress had paid a certain Andrew Ameh Ujah the sum of N100,000 to play the video of her son Jaga’s song, Summer Rose.

According to Naij, Ujah had reportedly told the actress to pay more if she wanted the video played because Soundcity was owing him his salary.

The bans have been imposed by FIFA's ethics committee judge Hans-Joachim Eckert for a "disloyal payment" of 2million Swiss francs [£1.3million] to Platini, signed off by Blatter.

 

The disgraced FIFA president and UEFA chief had claimed the payment had been made in 2011 following a verbal agreement between the pair when Platini for Blatter from 1998 to 2002.

Ghana drops in World Bank ease of doing business ranking

Ghana’s ranking in ease of doing business has reduced slightly from 112th to 114th in the Doing Business Report, a flagship report of the World Bank which assesses business regulations and the ease of doing business in countries.

The report noted that there is a strong association between performance in the ease of doing business ranking and performance in other measures of economic competitiveness and quality of government and governance.

“Economies that rank well on the ease of doing business also score well on such measures as the Global Competitiveness Index and Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index.”

Ghana’s new rank in the previous year’s report – Doing Business 2015 – was 112th after the World Bank revised the rankings in accordance with a change in the methodology of the annual report.

The government was forced to publish the unredacted report after a decision by data watchdog the Information Commissioner's Office.

Defra said the report was incomplete and "not analytically robust".

It added that the conclusions of the draft report "amount to unsubstantiated conjecture".

United Kingdom Onshore Oil and Gas (UKOOG), the industry lobby for the UK onshore oil and gas industry, said the report was "in danger of extrapolating the experiences of other jurisdictions that have different regulation, planning regimes and geologies."

The internal document - called 'Shale Gas: Rural Economy Impacts' - had several key sections obscured when it was published by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) last summer in response to a request under freedom of information laws.

Sainsbury's First Annual Loss for 10 years reports

Sainsbury's has reported its first full-year loss for 10 years as the fierce competition within the UK grocery market continues.

The UK's third-largest supermarket chain reported a £72m loss in the year to 14 March.

The results were hit by a number of one-off costs, including a writedown in the value of some of its stores.
