For Delta State-born Kelvin Ayanruoh, it’s joy unlimited.

The 24-year-old dancer, who came for auditions as a member of Elevators NG dance crew and was picked out by the judges to stand as a solo contestant, was on Saturday crowned winner of Globacom-spon­sored Dance with Peter reality TV show held at Bamako Studio, Ojodu, Lagos.

Sylvester Emmanuel surprises American Reed in Gov’s Cup

The scramble is on for international ranking points at the Governor’s Cup Futures 1, with home-boy, Sylvester Emmanuel making waves after sensationally upsetting American Anderson Reed in straight sets win, 7-6, 6-3 to move into the second round.

 

It was supposed to be a routine match for the American but playing against an inspired Emmanuel, who got into the main draw on the wings of a wild card, Reed found a foe, to hard to crack in their first round match held at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan.

The opening set was a close one as both players held serve right to the 13th game, which Emmanuel won on tie breaker.

FIFA U-17 World Cup: Govt reject Naira rain for victorious Eaglets

A reward package proposed by the sports ministry for Nigeria’s team to the recent FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile has been rejected by the country’s government as “too outrageous”, sources at the Presidency have revealed.

The government of President Muhammadu Buhari has sounded it loud and clear the country’s coffers are hugely depleted and as such it cannot afford unnecessary expenditure.

Nigeria- Golden Eaglets win FIFA U-17 World cup again

Nigerian Golden Eaglets became only the second side to retain the FIFA U-17 World Cup with a 2-0 win against Mali in Vina Del Mar. Nigeria has won five times FIFA U-17 World Cup list date are  in 1985, 1993, 2007, 2013, and now in 2015 in Chile.

 

The Nigerian team won the maiden edition of FIFA U-17 World Cup in 1985 in China, the fifth edition of the tournament in 1993 in Japan, the twelfth edition of the tournament in 2007 in South Korea,the fifteenth held in the United Arab Emirates 2013 and again the sixteenth in Chile 2015.

Novak Djokovic beats Roger Federer in final US Open 2015 to claim tenth major title

Federer has been back to his dazzling best at Flushing Meadows and enjoyed the almost complete backing of the American support, but Djokovic showed his iron-will again to win 6-4 5-7 6-4 6-4.

 

It means Djokovic has a second US Open title to add to his first in 2011, and he moves just one short of Bjorn Borg in the Open era's all-time champions list.

After sealing victory in three hours and 20 minutes, Djokovic turned to his box and pointed to his chest before commiserating his beaten opponent at the net.

Okorocha Declared Winner of Imo State Governorship Election

Governor of Imo State and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Rochas Okorocha, secured a second term in office after INEC declared him winner of the Imo State Governorship election.

Okorocha was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after the supplementary election of Saturday.
